Pumkinpalooza

It was rumored that we would have many pumpkins at our house this year... and we sure did! In fact, it was a Pumpkinpalooza as all three girls dressed as pumpkins for Halloween. We had our very own pumpkin patch! Boo, E & G went Trick-or-Treating with their cousins, Mikaela (Ariel) and Lili (Tinkerbell). Once the twins figured out that candy was the center of the ToT event they were psyched! The pack of girls were running from house to house ringing the bell and hollering "Trick or Treat!" with enthusiasm... actually, Boo says in her 4-year-old way, "Prick or Preat"-- it's so cute! It didn't take long for the kids to learn the standard Halloween Code: Light ON = candy, Light OFF = nobody home. Everyone had a blast sifting through their loot and eating far too much sugary goodness. Halloween 2008, now known as Pumpkinpalooza, was an overwhelming success (as if there was any doubt it would be)!

Fiesta!

Here are the pictures from Boo, E & G's birthday party. Grandpa & Yaya hosted so we could have a private pool party. Grammy, JayPa and cousin Dena were able to come to Houston to join in the fun-- Thanks guys, we loved having you here for the fiesta! The pool area is well shaded from the sun and the water was refreshingly cool. We had a mini "fishing" hole complete with kid-sized fishing rods and magnetic fish. Kolbeer (a.k.a. The Grill Master-- don't let that go to your head!) grilled some tasty hotdogs for everyone. The adorable flower cake sure was scrumptious too. Happy 4th Boo! Happy 2nd E & G! Where did our babies go!???

Let there be light!... er, um, I mean darkness.

Well, I finally got motivated to sew E&G new curtains... because I was tired of having them wake up at 6am when the sun comes up. So, this past weekend I went out and found these 2 beautiful fabrics 50% off-- total score! For those of you who are up to date on my recent couponing escapades understand how exciting a good deal is to me! Anyway, I also found a fabulous blackout fabric (which also doubles as an energy-saving insulator from the heat/cold-- bonus) so these curtains really block the sun. We hung the curtains last night and (drum roll, please) the girls slept in until 7am! Halleluiah, we have sleep! I'm so pleased that the girls slept later (let's hope it continues)... and I'm also happy that the old curtains (which came with the house) are gone-- what an eye sore those were! Now, I have plans to sew Boo new curtains... and eventually our living room too. This is kinda fun! :)

Boo's pre-birthday bash

During the last week of school Boo had the opportunity to celebrate her 4th birthday... a little early. Mama baked homemade chocolate cupcakes (thanks to Nigella Lawson's recipe) decorated with sprinkles and stars. We sang the Happy Birthday song while Boo held her ears in shyness. Everyone had a blast and she felt very special. It was a great way to end the school year.

Family Easter Pic

"TOT"

G has discovered her passion: tomatoes. She is completely obsessed with tomatoes, so much so, that I can no longer keep our fruit bowl on the table or else she will eat every single tomato in one sitting. She is what I loving call a "Tomato Obsessed Toddler" or TOT. In this particular picture, I found G at the kitchen table eating 5 tomatoes. She immediately takes a bite out of each tomato in order to claim them as her own. Smart, very smart! On this day I simply caved to the inevitable and decided to at least provide her with a paper towel "placemat" in an attempt at keeping the table somewhat clean. At least I know what incentive treat I'll use when G is potty training!
